Family is at the heart of everything I do. I married Dana, 38 years ago, and together we have three children and four amazing grandchildren.

It has been my privilege to work alongside Steve Gibson on the Pleasant View City Council for the past six years. In that time, I have come to know him as a fiscally responsible, level-headed leader who carefully considers all sides of an issue before making decisions.
Steve has consistently shown strong administrative skills—taking on projects, managing them effectively, and seeing them through to completion. He works well with city staff, police, and public works, and he will represent Pleasant View with professionalism in his interactions with other mayors and community leaders. Importantly, Steve values input from residents and colleagues, and he truly listens to what is being said.
His years of service as chairman of Founder’s Day highlight his ability to organize and lead one of our city’s most cherished traditions. His love for Pleasant View runs deep, and his commitment to this community is evident in everything he does.

During my six years serving on the Pleasant View City Council, I have come to understand more clearly what makes an effective mayor for a city like ours. For me, that list includes:
- A clear and wise vision for where the city needs to go, anticipating potential challenges, and planning for long-term success.
- Strong communication skills, both in public and in difficult situations such as council or community meetings, where clarity is essential. This also includes keeping citizens informed regularly and when necessary.
- Effective management abilities, including setting expectations, delegating responsibilities, negotiating contracts, hiring capable staff, and resolving employee conflicts.
- Integrity and courage to stand firm and do the right thing, even in the face of criticism on social media. The people I trust and respect most, rarely use social media to post or to guide their decisions.
- Fiscal responsibility, always working to reduce costs by improving efficiency and reducing waste so that the city can provide high-quality services without raising taxes.
- Collaboration, working well with each member of the City Council and the City Staff to counsel together and reach the best resolutions for Pleasant View’s issues.
I am endorsing and voting for Steve Gibson to lead Pleasant View City as our next Mayor. I have come to know him well, and I am confident that he not only possesses these essential skills but will also lead our city with great care and enthusiasm. He truly loves Pleasant View and its people.
Steve will continue to be a strong leader for business and commercial growth, ensure careful and conservative residential development, and always stand up for the rights of the people of Pleasant View.
